If there is one thing we love about the start of a new season, it’s the shoes.

And Fall 2026 footwear is GOOD.

This season is all about rich brown suede, retro-inspired sneakers, cozy mules, statement details and sleek boots. When we started buying for fall at Johnny’s Girl Boutique, we wanted styles that felt current and fresh but still wearable enough to reach for season after season.

Our upcoming footwear from Gola and Dolce Vita does exactly that.

The mix of olive, khaki and gum tones gives this sporty silhouette an instant fall update. It’s neutral enough to wear constantly, but the tonal combination makes it feel so much more interesting than your basic white sneaker.

How we’re styling it: straight-leg or barrel jeans, a white tee and an oversized barn jacket for early fall. Once Wisconsin temperatures start to drop, add a chunky sweater and longer coat.

It’s also one of the reasons we love this trend so much for Wisconsin. These colors naturally work with everything else we want to wear in the fall denim, chunky knits, barn jackets, plaid, corduroy and all the cozy layers that come out as soon as the temperatures drop.

Instead of buying one hyper-trendy shoe that only works with a handful of outfits, we’re leaning into styles that feel of-the-moment but incredibly wearable.

How We’re Wearing Fall Shoe Trends in Wisconsin

Fall footwear in Wisconsin has to pass a slightly different test.

We need shoes that look cute during those perfect 65-degree September afternoons but can transition when an October morning suddenly feels suspiciously like November.

Our formula is pretty simple:

Early Fall: Retro sneakers + denim + tees + lightweight jackets.

Peak Fall: Suede mules + chunky knits + relaxed denim + barn jackets.

Late Fall: Boots + sweaters + wool coats + all the layers.

And when the snow officially arrives? That’s when we’re protecting the suede and pulling out the true winter boots. 😉
